The Number of Concluded IP Cases in China Continued to Grow at a High Rate in 2018
According to the recent work report of the Supreme People’s Court, the number of concluded first-instance IP cases in China was 288,000 in 2018, with year-on-year growth of 41.8%.
According to the data released earlier, the total number of patent administrative enforcement cases throughout the country was 77,276, with year-on-year growth of 15.9%. Among them, there were 34,597 patent dispute cases (including 33,976 patent infringement disputes), with year-on-year growth of 22.8%; 42,679 patent counterfeiting cases, with year-on-year growth of 10.9%. 31,000 trademark cases were investigated and handled, with a total case value of 550 million yuan.
